A candid, personal letter from the Fall in Love with Gaming team telling hesitant streamers to skip the generic brand pitch and join a residency that protects their voice and community. If you worry about 'selling out,' read this: we want to co-create, not commandeer your channel.
Dear streamer,
You have spent months, maybe years, building a space where people come to laugh, learn, and be themselves. You know the timing of a joke, the way your chat echoes a meme, the small rituals that turn strangers into a community. The last thing you need is a brand parachuting in with a checklist, a script, and a flat fee that feels like payment for memory erasure.
This is not a corporate pitch dressed up in gamer slang. We do not want a staged two-hour spot where you are told to ‘hit these lines’ and ‘use this hashtag’ while your chat sighs in the corner. We will not structure our relationship around impressions alone, or require you to run content that breaks the reason people show up for you.
Think of this as a short creative residency. We show up with a theme, a small budget, and a few resources, and you get to design how that theme lives inside your channel. You keep final approval of everything, you decide which parts of your identity to highlight, and we back production needs that matter: a promotional overlay, a co-op key for an event, or a prize pool that actually excites your viewers.
We want to be collaborators, not transaction partners. That means weekly check-ins where we brainstorm ideas, not deliverables, and a small, focused production support package so you do not have to shoulder the lift alone. It means paying for your time, and then trusting you to use it in ways that make sense to your community.
One stream team we worked with turned a planned two-hour ad segment into a three-day residency themed around cooperative classics. They kept every gag, every community challenge, and the jokes only their chat would understand. During the residency, their median viewership rose from about 350 to 520, and new subscription growth accelerated by roughly 18%. Those numbers matter, but what mattered more was that chat stayed conversational, returning viewers stuck around for the whole weekend, and the streamer reported fewer questions about "selling out" afterwards because the community recognized the collaboration as part of the channel’s story.
We do not insist on rigid metrics that push you into content that undermines trust. We do ask for a short creative brief so we can align on goals, and we promise to fund what you need to reach them.
If you find yourself reading brand offers and thinking, "This will make my chat go quiet," then this is for you. If you are thinking, "I could do something cool if they let me write it my way," this is definitely for you. If you are worried about losing integrity for a paycheck, we understand that pressure, and we built this to avoid it.
If your instinct immediately is to say no to anything that smells like a corporate script, and you have evidence that such offers hurt your growth or morale, bring that to the table. We want to learn from what has gone wrong for creators in the past, and use those failures to make a better model.
If you are curious, we will offer a short, 20-minute creative session where you tell us what your channel is about, what you would never do, and what would excite your chat. No forms, no heavy contracts up front, and full transparency about compensation. If we cannot reach an agreement that feels right, we walk away.
I know trust is earned. I also know you will hear a hundred polished pitches that all say the same thing. This letter is not polished. It is a direct ask: stop worrying about protecting your brand by reflexively declining every partnership, and instead protect it by choosing partnerships that treat your channel as a living thing.
If you want to talk, reply to this post, or DM our creators lead. Tell us what you would want to do with a week-long micro-residency, and we will come back with one clear, no-pressure proposal. If it feels right, we build together. If not, we say thank you and let you run your channel the way you always have.
Sincerely, The Fall in Love with Gaming team
