Please Don't Just Stream for the Sponsor Money This Year

If another sponsor read has started to feel like a performance you have to get through, this letter is for you. Find a different kind of Q4: one built around shared play, mutual support, and the people who make streaming feel worthwhile.

Hey streamer,

Maybe you know the feeling: the game is ready, chat is waiting, and you have a sponsor script open in another tab. You want to show up with your usual energy, but the words sound borrowed. You read them, hit the required talking points, and hope the moment feels natural. Then you wonder whether anyone came for you, or just the offer code.

If that kind of partnership has left you tired, you’re not ungrateful. You can appreciate a paycheck and still want your work to mean more than delivering a message between matches. You can be glad a brand chose you and still miss the feeling of making something with people who get why you love games in the first place.

We’re writing because the final stretch of the year can make those feelings louder. September rolls into October, the calendar fills up, and by November it can seem like every stream has to become a campaign. We don’t want you to feel like you have to put on another version of yourself to take part in ours.

What we hope this can be

Fall in Love with Gaming is an autumn streamer raid campaign running from September through November 2026. The word “raid” matters to us, not as a marketing flourish, but as a way to make room for creators to show up for one another.

Picture this: you finish a stream, send your viewers to another creator you genuinely enjoy, and stay to watch a little. They return the kindness another night. Your communities overlap, someone finds a new favorite channel, and the conversation keeps going after the raid message disappears. It’s a small thing, but it feels different from reading a pitch and moving on.

That’s the kind of connection we want to make possible. A campaign can pay creators and still leave room for personality, trust, and collaboration. The compensation matters. Your time, preparation, and audience are valuable. But the paycheck doesn’t have to be the whole story.

You don’t have to pretend you’re never tired

We know that “be authentic” can become one more instruction creators are expected to perform perfectly. We’re not asking you to be endlessly enthusiastic, to tell your audience something changed your life, or to turn every stream into a heartfelt moment.

You might be excited to meet other creators and still need a quiet night. You might enjoy a game while being honest that a particular format isn’t for you. You might want the financial support and want clear boundaries around the work. All of that belongs in an honest relationship.

Maybe what you miss is a night when chat gets distracted comparing cozy game recommendations, or the surprise of a viewer returning because they found another streamer through your community. Maybe you want to collaborate without having to make every interaction feel like a deliverable. Those aren’t small or sentimental wishes. They’re part of what makes this work sustainable.

Bring your taste, not a character

If you join us, bring the games you actually want to play, the way you naturally talk with your community, and the parts of streaming that still make you curious. We want the campaign to create opportunities for creators to find each other, share their corners of gaming, and build moments that feel like theirs.

That could mean a raid to a creator whose humor you love, a co-stream that turns into a running joke, or a chat full of people swapping recommendations. It doesn’t need to be a grand production. A genuine hello and a little attention can matter more than a perfect script.

And if a proposed activity doesn’t fit your channel, we want you to feel able to say so. Community isn’t something we can demand from you in exchange for a campaign slot. It has to grow from respect, and respect includes your time, your voice, and your right to make the work your own.

A note from us, honestly

We can’t promise every collaboration will become a friendship or every raid will bring a new regular. We can promise that the idea is worth approaching with care: creators supporting creators, viewers discovering new places to belong, and an autumn campaign that leaves space for the human beings behind the streams.

So if you’re looking at another Q4 opportunity and asking, “Is this only about the money?” we understand why. Money is a real reason to say yes. It’s not the only reason you deserve to have.

If you want to spend part of this autumn finding good people to play alongside, we’d love to have you with us. Come as you are, bring the game you’re excited to share, and tell us what kind of collaboration would feel good to you. We’ll meet you there, one stream and one raid at a time.
